University of Wisconsin Credit Union (UW Credit Union) is a federally insured, member-owned credit union headquartered in Madison, Wisconsin, with over 366,000 members and $5.6 billion in assets as of Q4 2024. Founded in 1931, it is the fourth-largest credit union in Wisconsin and operates 31 full-service branches throughout Madison, Milwaukee, and UW System campuses. The credit union provides comprehensive financial services including checking, savings, mortgages, auto loans, student loans, and digital banking.

Membership Restrictions

Membership is open to students, faculty, staff, and alumni of the University of Wisconsin System (all 26 campuses) and UW–Extension, as well as their immediate family and households. Edgewood College and Madison College students, faculty, staff, and alumni are also eligible. Current and former employees of UW Health, the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association, and Covance Clinical Research Units may join. Additionally, anyone who lives, works, or attends school within 5 miles of a UW Credit Union branch is eligible for membership.
