EastRise Credit Union is the largest credit union in Vermont with approximately $3 billion in assets and 168,460 members across 22 branches. Founded in 1961 as the IBM Employees Credit Union, it merged with Vermont State Employees’ Credit Union in 2023 and rebranded to EastRise in September 2024. The credit union serves members across Vermont and select areas in Michigan and Ohio, offering a full range of personal and business banking services.

Membership Restrictions

Membership is open to all U.S. citizens and resident aliens through membership in the American Consumer Council (ACC), with EastRise covering the first-year ACC fee. Employees of select employer groups including the State of Vermont and Vermont State Colleges are eligible. Members of the Vermont General Assembly, Northeast Sustainable Energy Association, Washington Electric Cooperative, and Financial Fitness Association also qualify. Individuals who live, work, or attend school in six northwestern Vermont counties (Chittenden, Franklin, Grand Isle, Washington, Lamoille, Addison) are eligible. Immediate family or household members of current members may join with a $5 deposit.
