Metro Federal Credit Union (METRO FCU) is a federally chartered credit union headquartered in Arlington Heights, Illinois, serving portions of Cook, DuPage, Lake, and McHenry Counties. Originally chartered in 1973 by municipal employees, it received a Community Charter from the National Credit Union Administration in 2019 and now serves approximately 3,200 members with about $66 million in assets.

Membership Restrictions

Membership is available to anyone who lives, works, volunteers, worships, or attends school within the boundaries of METRO's community charter area (portions of Cook, DuPage, Lake, and McHenry Counties). Additionally, employees of approximately 60 sponsoring public employer groups (municipalities, libraries, park districts, school districts, and related governmental organizations) are eligible. Immediate family or household members of existing METRO members may also join. A $10 initial savings deposit is required to open an account.
