ELGA Credit Union is a not-for-profit cooperative credit union based in Burton, Michigan, serving the Flint and Genesee County area since 1951. The credit union recently merged with Marine Bank & Trust (March 2026) and COPOCO Community Credit Union (August 2025), expanding its footprint across multiple Michigan counties. ELGA is a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) and Veterans Benefit Banking Program (VBBP) participant.

Membership Restrictions

Individuals who live, work, worship, volunteer, or attend school within the State of Michigan are eligible to join. Saginaw Valley State University students and alumni may join. Immediate family members of current ELGA members are eligible. Employees and retirees of select employer groups (State of Michigan agencies, Building Trades AFL-CIO, Consumers Energy Company) qualify. Any person making a $25 donation to the Salvation Army Bed and Bread Program may join. Business entities primarily comprised of the same general membership group are also eligible.
