SIU Credit Union is a not-for-profit, member-owned financial cooperative headquartered in Carbondale, Illinois, serving southern Illinois since 1938. The credit union manages over $497 million in assets and serves more than 44,800 members across multiple counties in southern Illinois. It is federally insured by the NCUA and offers a full range of financial products including savings, checking, loans, and investment services.

Membership Restrictions

Membership is open to anyone who lives or works in 23 specified Illinois counties (Alexander, Clinton, Edwards, Franklin, Gallatin, Hamilton, Hardin, Jackson, Jefferson, Johnson, Marion, Massac, Monroe, Perry, Pope, Pulaski, Randolph, Saline, Wabash, Washington, Wayne, White, Williamson, or Union). Employees and students of Southern Illinois University and John A. Logan College are eligible. Employees of designated member companies including Centerstone, City of Carbondale, Gateway Foundation, Illinois Youth Center, Marion VA Medical Center, and others may join. Immediate family members of existing members (parents, spouse, children, siblings, grandchildren, or grandparents) are also eligible. Once a member makes the minimum $5 deposit to a Membership Share account, lifetime membership is assured even if employment affiliation ends.
