Bank-Fund Staff Federal Credit Union (BFSFCU) is a full-service financial cooperative chartered in 1947 and headquartered in Washington, District of Columbia. It was founded by employees of the World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund to serve their financial needs. The credit union is the largest in Washington, D.C. and the fourth largest in the United States, managing over $6.3 billion in assets and serving approximately 98,700 to 100,900 members.

Membership Restrictions

Membership is available to employees, officials, contractors, and interns of the World Bank Group (IBRD, IDA, IFC, MIGA, ICSID) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), as well as retirees of those organizations. Employees of related organizations such as the Bretton Woods Recreation Center, World Bank Children's Center, and Bank-Fund Staff Federal Credit Union itself are also eligible. Immediate family members (spouses, children, parents, grandparents, siblings, and adoptive relations) and household members (partners, roommates, au pairs, volunteers) of eligible persons may join. Once a member, individuals retain membership indefinitely by maintaining a minimum $5 balance in their membership share, even if employment status changes.
