Latino Community Credit Union (LCCU) is a state-chartered, member-owned nonprofit credit union headquartered in Durham, North Carolina, founded in 2000. It is the first and only Latino credit union in North Carolina, serving over 90,000 members across 15 branches statewide. The credit union was established to provide affordable financial services to Latino immigrants and underserved communities who faced barriers to traditional banking.

Membership Restrictions

To join LCCU, individuals must first become members of the Latino Community Development Center (LCDC) with a one-time $8 membership fee. Applicants must reside in the United States, possess a valid Social Security Number (SSN) or Individual Tax Identification Number (ITIN), and provide a valid government-issued photo ID. The LCDC serves as the credit union's field of membership organization and provides financial education to members and non-members alike.
