Nusenda Credit Union is a federally-chartered, not-for-profit credit union headquartered in Albuquerque, New Mexico, with over 280,000 members and more than $4.7 billion in assets as of 2024. It is the largest credit union by membership in New Mexico and serves members across New Mexico and West Texas through more than 30 branches. Originally founded in 1936 as the Albuquerque Public Schools Federal Credit Union, it expanded its field of membership over decades to include employees of educational institutions and other organizations.

Membership Restrictions

Membership is primarily open to employees of educational institutions (Albuquerque Public Schools, University of New Mexico, Albuquerque Technical-Vocational Institute, and UNM Hospital) and their immediate family members. The credit union also serves members of La Monta��ita Food Co-op and over 600 other local businesses, systems, and organizations. Membership requires a minimum $5 savings account balance. Individuals outside the primary service area may join through membership in affiliated organizations such as La Monta��ita Food Co-op.
