Lake Michigan Credit Union (LMCU), founded in 1933 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, is the largest credit union in Michigan and one of the largest in the United States. It operates 53 locations across Michigan and Florida and offers personal and business banking, loans, mortgages, investments, and insurance services. LMCU is a federally insured state-chartered credit union regulated by the NCUA.

Membership Restrictions

Membership is open to those who live, work, worship, or attend post-secondary school in 34 Michigan counties (Allegan, Antrim, Barry, Benzie, Berrien, Branch, Calhoun, Cass, Charlevoix, Cheboygan, Clare, Clinton, Eaton, Emmet, Grand Traverse, Ingham, Ionia, Isabella, Kalamazoo, Kalkaska, Kent, Lake, Leelanau, Manistee, Mason, Mecosta, Missaukee, Montcalm, Muskegon, Newaygo, Oceana, Osceola, Ottawa, St. Joseph, Van Buren, and Wexford). Membership is also available to immediate family members of current LMCU members regardless of location, donors to the ALS Association (West Michigan Chapter), and residents of select Florida counties. A $5 membership fee applies.
