Consumers Credit Union (CCU) is a not-for-profit financial cooperative founded in 1930 and headquartered in Lake Forest, Illinois. With $4.3 billion in assets and over 268,000 members, it is one of the largest credit unions in Illinois. CCU offers a full range of personal and business banking services including checking, savings, loans, mortgages, and credit cards.

Membership Restrictions

Anyone can join Consumers Credit Union by becoming a member of the Consumers Cooperative Association and paying a one-time $5 membership fee (which CCU will reimburse in most cases). Members must maintain a minimum $5 balance in their membership savings account. There are no employment, geographic, or association-based restrictions on eligibility. Once a member, the membership is retained for life even if circumstances change.
